The Community Based Security Services Program, operated by Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, LLC, brings together community members, local organizations, businesses, and faith-based institutions to promote safety awareness, emergency preparedness, volunteer engagement, and stronger community partnerships.
Our volunteers play an important role in supporting participating organizations by assisting with community events, safety initiatives, administrative support, hospitality, observation, reporting, and other approved non-enforcement responsibilities.
Program volunteers do not replace licensed security officers, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, or other public safety professionals. All volunteer assignments are performed under supervision and in accordance with program policies and procedures.
Volunteering with the Community Based Security Services Program is more than simply giving back—it's an opportunity to develop valuable skills, receive professional training, and become part of a team committed to protecting our communities.
Individuals interested in volunteering must first contact an eligible participating organization, business, faith-based institution, or other current client of Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, LLC.
The participating organization serves as the volunteer's Program Sponsor. Prospective volunteers must meet directly with their sponsor before submitting a volunteer application.
Pathway to a Security Career: For volunteers interested in pursuing a career in private security, this program provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced security professionals while developing real-world skills. Volunteers who successfully complete their probationary period and meet program expectations may become eligible to work toward obtaining their New York State Unarmed or Armed Security Guard Registration, opening the door to future employment opportunities with Mid-Hudson Security Consultants.
Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, LLC will not process volunteer applications from individuals who have not first received approval from an eligible Program Sponsor.
